GDO Conducted Training for Teachers in White Nile State - August 2025
GDO recently conducted a comprehensive training program for 30 teachers from leading technical teams for the period from August 8th to August 25th, 2025, the sessions were focused on the innovative UPSHIFT program, aimed at empowering teachers to become effective facilitators for youth.
The training was structured around three core pillars:
• Life Skills: Fostering self-development, effective communication, and collaborative teamwork.
• Social Innovation: Equipping participants with the skills to analyze societal problems and develop creative, innovative solutions.
• Entrepreneurship: Promoting an entrepreneurial mindset and encouraging the development of productive youth initiatives and projects.
This intensive training has equipped the teachers with the skills to integrate these crucial topics into the educational process. The immediate impact is clear: these 30 newly-trained educators are now prepared to train a new generation of 600 young people. This initiative will directly contribute to empowering youth with practical skills for financial independence and self-reliance.
By strengthening the role of teachers as mentors and facilitators, this program reinforces their critical function in supporting students and youth to solve challenges within their own communities. GDO is proud to invest in this program as we work toward a more empowered and self-sufficient future for young people.

Green Dream Organization Empowering Teachers for a Brighter Future
The (GDO) recently concluded a series of training workshops designed to equip teachers with essential skills for modern educational challenges. Targeting 60 dedicated educators, the workshops were divided into two groups of 30, with a focus on three critical areas:
Alternative Education:
This session provided teachers with the necessary tools and knowledge to manage alternative education effectively. The goal was to ensure the inclusion of children who are outside the formal school system, bringing them back into the educational process and giving them a chance to learn and thrive.
Education in Emergencies (EiE):
Recognizing the difficult circumstances many communities face, this workshop-built teacher`s capacity for classroom management and educational delivery in crisis contexts. This training is vital for ensuring the continuity of the educational process, regardless of the challenges on the ground.
Basic Emotional Learning:
Addressing the psychological and social well-being of students, this workshop trained teachers on methods for supporting children emotionally. The skills learned will help teachers create a safe and stimulating learning environment, fostering a positive atmosphere that promotes both academic and personal growth.
At the conclusion of each workshop, all participating teachers were awarded certificates of completion, celebrating their dedication and commitment to providing quality education. This initiative reflects GDO`s continued efforts to build the capacity of community educators and strengthen the overall education system
